Grass Land is a casual exploration and crafting game set in wild overgrown areas covered with tall grass and other plants. The player, via an avatar, uses various cutting tools to clear large swaths, acquire resources, build structures, and create a well-maintained safe zone.
The player cuts away grass to reveal common construction and trade materials, such as black coal, taupe sand and brown logs. In some cases, they reveal byproducts of materials, such as gray steel beams in place of iron rocks.
The game requires the player to take the collected resources to water fountains. It then uses the items to unlock tools, reveal more of the safe zone, build structures, and complete other upgrades. The player can also use the fountains to restore their avatar's health. After they create a large enough safe zone, they can harvest materials safely from sources within it, such as coal outcroppings, giant sand piles and full-grown trees.
Grass Land offers a lot of quests, mini games and side missions. For example, it requires the player's avatar to ride animals for faster movement, upgrade cutters to create weapons that kill deadly predators, and save people.
If the player directs their avatar to chop down a beanstalk, they receive a gift. When they complete enough daily missions, they receive free ham legs as a form of currency. Other winnings throughout the game include coins, ad-supported tickets and lucky spin wheel items. The player can use their winnings to unlock animal companions and clothing.
